In the fall of 2019 we were thrilled to host dance artist, writer, and scholar (also the editor of our Program Magazine) Megan Andrews – to Fall for Dance North to write about and share her festival experiences through this blog. Relive your festival experience through her beautiful poetic prose. Her journal is bound to ignite new ideas about dance!

I’m delighted to be attending Fall for Dance North again this year in an expanded role asFestival Writer through this “blog”. Full disclosure: I don’t consider myself a blogger per se, but we’ll see how it goes. You can find some other pieces of my writing in the Program Magazine: look for the bolded critical-poetic texts about each artist’s work, which I generated in response to preview videos of the dances themselves.
Here, I’m tracking my experience and observations throughout my time at the festival from Oct. 3 through Oct. 5. It’s certainly not a critical review but more a long form response. I’m exploring my approach as I go, allowing various possibilities to emerge. It’s pretty candid and I apologize in advance for any errors, which we will correct as quickly as possible.
I hope you enjoy. See you at the theatre!
