Available for Bookings from Nov 2022 - Jun 2023
The FFDN Experience: Virtual Program is modeled after the signature format of Fall for Dance North mainstage programming, and curated and produced as a digital experience specifically for students (grades 7 - 12). This program goes to the core of FFDN’s mission, which is to connect with a wide selection of exceptional and diverse dance styles, created and performed by Canadian and International artists who are at the top of their game.
The artists featured in this program include South African choreographers Mafa Makubalo (Toronto, ON) and Mthuthuzeli November (London, UK), contemporary choreographer Joshua Beamish (Vancouver, BC), and jazz dance choreographers and FFDN Artists-In-Residence Kimberly Cooper (Calgary, AB) and Natasha Powell (Toronto, ON).
Following the performances, a Q&A session is offered for students to be introduced to the artists themselves and ask specific questions.
This program includes a downloadable Student Study Guide, which provides detailed information about the choreographers and each of the five pieces, histories of the dance forms seen in the performances and discussion questions and activities for student or teacher-lead learning with notes about how these explorations connect with the larger curriculum.
