Join the FFDN Team!


As a not-for-profit charitable organization, Fall for Dance North (FFDN) staffs a lean, mean, multi-tasking team, and we depend on the enthusiastic support of volunteers (age 18+) to help make the festival happen!


A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available, with various degrees of involvement. We value diversity and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, with all levels of experience.

Volunteer Positions:

Corps Volunteers


Corps Volunteers make up the main body of FFDN volunteers. They work at all of our designated venues, including the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (soon to be Meridian Hall), Ryerson Theatre and Union Station, and take on a variety of responsibilities. Corps volunteers must commit to working a minimum of two shifts, which are typically 4-6 hours.


  • Festival Greeter

  • Union Station Assistant

  • Poster Signing Assistant 

  • Festival Donor/VIP Table Assistant

  • Patrons Lounge + IPP Event Assistant

  • Festival Runner/Floater

  • Master Class Assistant



Volunteers must attend at least one training session, be able to interact with the public and artists in a friendly and professional manner, have strong knowledge of FFDN and the current programming and a general knowledge of the venue/location in which the shift is scheduled. 



Principal Volunteers


Principal Volunteers are a select group of individuals that take on key roles during the Festival. These roles entail greater responsibility and requires a larger time commitment. Principal volunteers work more closely with festival artists (and have access to better perks!)



  • Ticket Scanner/ Usher (at Ryerson Theatre)

  • Team Leader (Venue Captain at Sony Centre - soon to be Meridian Hall + Ryerson Theatre, Marketing Team Leader)

  • Company Liaison

  • Airport/Hotel Greeter and Artist Transport Assistant 

  • Festival HQ Administrative Assistant


  • Principal Volunteers are required to attend both the Volunteer training session as well as an additional Principal Volunteer training session for further information on details specific to the duties listed above. Principal volunteers will be selected based on previous volunteer experience. Principle volunteers will be required to complete important, often time-sensitive and detail oriented tasks, be typically available for longer shifts, and commit to at least 3 shifts throughout the year. All Principle Volunteers should have strong knowledge of FFDN, our history, mission, venues and programming.
