Fall for Dance North Festival takes place across various venues in Toronto. FFDN is dedicated to working together with our venue partners to ensure a barrier free environment, so our visitors can enjoy the festival experience to the fullest extent. 

Meridian Hall

Meridian Hall has dedicated wheelchair-accessible seating locations on the orchestra and mezzanine levels. Meridian Hall lobbies and washrooms are barrier-free for patrons using wheelchairs or similar assistive devices. The main lobby has an elevator to the mezzanine and lower lobby spaces for those who may need it.

The Creative School

The Orchestra level of The Theatre at the Creative School is barrier-free for patrons using wheelchairs or similar assistive devices. There is an accessible washroom located on the main floor, adjacent to the lobby. The Balcony is not wheelchair accessible. The Theatre maintains specific wheelchair accessible seating locations on the left side of the Orchestra level.

Union Station

Accessible route from TTC: The west side of the TTC concourse level has ramps that lead to the Front Street Promenade (where Pilot Coffee and Danish Pastry are). Continue heading straight and then turn left at the restaurants to head into the GO York Concourse. Take another left and continue to the staircase that leads to the Great Hall. There is an elevator just to the left of that staircase that goes up to the Great Hall at street level. The West Wing is to the left.

Accessible route from GO York Concourse: Follow signs towards the Great Hall. There is a staircase that leads from the GO York Concourse to the Great Hall. Just left of the staircase is an elevator. The West Wing is on the left. Union Station (ttc.ca)

The Sandra Faire and Ivan Fecan Theatre

The Sandra Faire and Ivan Fecan Theatre is committed to being an accessible venue and has implemented the following measures and services to ensure everyone can enjoy their time at the theatre:

Hot Docs - Ted Rogers Cinema

Hot Docs is a wheelchair and mobility device accessible venue. The main entrance doors are wide and automatic, the main floor washrooms are accessible with two grab bars and space in the stalls for a mobility device. The stalls include a lever handle as well as lowered hooks behind the doors. Along with wheelchair accessible washrooms, there are also all-gender washrooms on site. The main floor of the auditorium is equipped with wheelchair transfer seating and designated wheelchair locations.

Assisted hearing devices are also available for use, including the Listen Everywhere app that can be downloaded onto any type of smartphone. The network and password are listed on their website under ‘Accessibility - Hearing Assist Devices’. 

Service animals are welcome in any public areas of the cinema, support workers are welcome at any Hot Docs location and event.

ASL interpreters and light accommodations at screenings will be made available for guests who require them, in a designated area upon 72 hours advance notice. 

Patrons are able to see which films include closed captions, open captions, audio descriptions and full subtitles on the Hot Docs website.

The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance

The Citadel has an accessible washroom located in the lobby at street level. Both Studio A and Studio B are accessible by a two-person elevator located at the lobby level. Community members using mobility devices can use the elevator to access these spaces, however, it requires a staff member’s assistance to operate. The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance is located near accessible transit stops at Parliament Street at Dundas Street East.

Holy Blossom Temple

The main entrance and main parking lot is accessible to wheelchairs and mobility devices, with a walkway leading to the door that is barrier free. 1 out of 2 parking lots are accessible, again with a walkway leading to the main entrance. American Sign Language Interpreters are available upon request, as well as assistive listening devices and large print flyers/programs. Holy Blossom has wheelchair access throughout the building, including but not limited to elevators on all four floors of the Temple. Accessible washrooms are available on the lower level, first and second floors with automatic doors and large non gender-specific single stalls. Most doors throughout the building are automatic, the temple is striving to have more installed in the near future.
