Shining the spotlight on dance on film
We are looking for short dance films!
8-Count is FFDN’s short dance film screening in its third year, showcasing national and international dancemakers and filmmakers producing elevated short dance films. We are excited that this year we are bringing back 8-Count’s open call for short dance films and an honorarium of $700 for each selected film.
8-Count will have a one-night-only premiere screening in Toronto at a location to be announced during FFDN's 10th anniversary festival in Fall 2024.
The 8-Count open call application is now live. Applications close July 8 and will be assessed by a Selection Committee of inspiring acclaimed film and dance artists. Our official announcement lineup will be publicly released in August 2024, and successful applicants will be contacted by email in advance.
