There’s a rich history behind the dances, from the Electric Slide to Boots on the Ground, we'll groove to the music that brought communities together and explore the ways these dances continue to evolve today. Join this fun and accessible community dance party that celebrates Black music and it's heritage, with a distinctly Canadian twist!
Whether you’re brand new to line dancing or ready to show off your moves, everyone is welcome. We'll learn together, dance together, and enjoy an afternoon of music, community, and fun in the heart of the city.
Rhea Daniels is a dance instructor with a passion for leading classes that are welcoming, inclusive and fun. Her Soul / R&B line dance sessions are designed to be joyful and accessible for all bodies and levels. In each class students learn basic steps of line dance, follow-along routines and classic and popular dances. Modifications are taught so you can adapt if you want a little challenge or a little ease. The goal is to have fun and connect. Rhea has an MFA in Dance and 20+ years of experience teaching dancers of all ages. This background along with training in Dance for Parkinson's and as a Canfitpro certified group fitness instructor, provides the foundations for classes that are structured to be just the right amount of challenging, safe, and that feel good in your body.
