Job Posting: Box Office Assistant

Application Deadline: April 4, 2025

Start Date: April 28, 2025

End Date: October 31, 2025

Remuneration: $7,500 + HST as applicable

Additional perks: Box Office assistant will receive festival tickets and an FFDN t-shirt

Hours/Schedule: Part-time - Approximately broken down as follows:

  • 5-10 hours/week (April 28-May 30)
  • 20-25 hours/week (June 2 - July 18)  To support ticket launch
  • 5-10 hours/week (July 21 - September 26, up to max of  60 hours over 10 weeks). Note some weeks off during summer.
  • 15-25 hours per week (September 29 - October 26) More hours during festival time in October
  • 5-10 hours wrap up

Total Hours - Between 325-350 (estimate)  Contractor will be asked to track their hours, and work up to a max of 350 hours.

Please note that FFDN aims to launch ticket sales on or around June 19th, therefore more hours are required during the month of June to help cover Box Office. It is anticipated that in the summer months there will be some weeks where hours are not required. 

 

About the Role: FFDN is looking for a Box Office Assistant to join our team. This position will work closely with our Box Office Manager, General Manager and FFDN’s ticketing partner, TO Live. Areas of support will include responding to general ticketing inquiries, donor ticket processing,  liaising with TO Live’s ticketing office, and generally supporting the smooth operation of ticket launch and subsequent sales. 

Primary duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Box Office Manager in all ticketing operations, including private and group bookings, VIP, Donors, Community Groups, Press, Schools...etc. 
  • Supports any liaison with our venue partners’ box office teams and takes meeting notes as necessary;
  • Provides exceptional customer service for patrons by answering phone calls and emails;
  • Liaise with marketing team around ticketing trends, website updates and general communications with audiences as it relates to ticketing;
  • Supports the coordination of processing comp tickets, building of any ticketing order forms or general communications around ticketing;
  • Provides some on-site box office support during festival dates (October 15-26, 2025), as needed;
  • Keeps ticket and box office files up-to-date;
  • Other reasonable ticketing duties as required

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in Ticket Services/Box Office positions
  • Proficiency with box office management practices and ticketing systems 
  • Proven ability to problem solve, embrace ​flexibility ​and ​versatility in a fast-paced evolving environment.
  • Very well organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, both independently and in a team

Other Information
FFDN’s offices are located at 20 Dundas St. West, 9th floor. Staff continue to work in a hybrid model with some in person meetings and gatherings.
